Ghostbuster Bill Murray and much younger musician Jenny Lewis are rumored to be dating according to a report from Page Six, which could mean a new power celebrity couple for the indie world to gather around.
Murray threw a lavish New York party Tuesday night to celebrate the release of his latest movie Rock The Kasbah, which was attended by the likes of Lady Gaga, Kate Hudson, Naomi Campbell and Zooey Deschanel, according to Jezebel.
However, it was Lewis who, upon late arrival, apparently stole Murray's attention. Check out the Instagram post below.
"We hear one guest who showed up at the bitter end of the night is Murray's current younger love interest, indie rocker Jenny Lewis," Page Six said of the event.
None of this is confirmed yet, as Stereogum rightly points out after reaching out and hearing no response from Lewis' publicist following the rumors.
The age difference is a little jarring if the news is true. Murray is 65 years old now and Lewis, a former child star herself, is 39. Then again, the 26-year gap in age is no match for true love.
Murray and his second wife, Jennifer Butler, divorced back in 2008, according to USA Today. The initial claim made by Butler alleged that Murray abused her and that he is addicted to alcohol and marijuana.
Rock The Kasbah is a fake rockumentary that sees Murray playing a washed-up band manager looking to make a comeback. The movie features a cameo from Lewis as well as testimonials from E Street Band singer and guitarist Steve Van Zandt, Willie Nelson, Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood and Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir.
The rumored couple can also be seen together on Murray's upcoming Netflix special, A Very Murray Christmas, alongside fellow music acts Phoenix and Miley Cyrus. The special will also feature a star-studded cast including George Clooney, Amy Poehler, Chris Rock, Michael Cera, Maya Rudolph, Rashida Jones and Jason Schwartzman.
