On the heels of the release of their 14th studio album Paper Gods, British pop group Duran Duran have unveiled the music video for their single "Pressure Off" featuring Nile Rodgers and Janelle Monáe.
The video is shot in black and white and features the various band members doing their thing, while Nile Rodgers jams away on his guitar with the irresistible riffs that he is known to write and then Janelle Monáe comes in to the screen to belt out the chorus in her vintage clothing that fits right with the color scheme of the video.
The camera flips back and forth between the various members all dressed in black or white as the track progresses along with them. Monáe jumps in during her hooks and Rodgers is featured in the background as he brings the funk to this light and disco-influenced track.
It is a simple, yet elegant portrayal of the track that has been among the most popular from Paper Gods. It is no "Hungry Like A Wolf" music video though.
"Pressure Off" was the first single released from Duran Duran's 14th album Paper Gods. The LP has a laundry list of features including former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante, Mr. Hudson, Mark Ronson, Lindsay Lohan and Mew's Jonas Bjerre.
The group have been touring extensively all year, doing headlining shows all over North America and hitting the European festival season hard. They are wrapping up the year back on their home turf in the UK with a series of arena shows around the island in November and December. Full details can be found here.
