Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Khloé Kardashian is fed up with people attacking her, especially during the last couple of weeks as she supported husband Lamar Odom in the hospital. The youngest Kardashian sister is currently under fire due to her recent cover story for People, where she discusses her relationship with Odom, how she's coping with his current condition, and her new book. Some people believe she used Odom's traumatic health state to boost publicity for her book, but Kardashian fired back on Twitter to shut down the rumors.
The 31-year-old is featured on the cover of People's latest issue, revealing intimate details about trying to move on from Odom and ultimately finding her way back by his side. An excerpt from her upcoming book, Strong Looks Better Naked, is also featured in the exclusive interview in which she talks about what led to the downfall of her marriage with Odom, struggles with her body image, and how Odom's life battles have impacted her younger brother, Rob.
While publicity stunts are often tied in with the controversial reality TV family, Kardashian assures fans the recent mention of her book in the publication was not intended to draw attention. On Wednesday (Oct. 28), she admitted via Twitter that the interview and photo shoot for the magazine took place prior to when the former NBA star was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, as well as, confirming the book was written months ago.
Taking great offense to the accusations, she went on to explain why she was obligated to speak about the recent events surrounding Odom due to her contract.
Many were confused as to how such recent and private information about his condition and their current marital status could have made its way so quickly into the issue, but Kardashian had an answer for every allegation and derogatory statement thrown her way.
"It's out in the media that we are back together, but I wish people understood that's not in our thought process right now," Kardashian told People. "There are too many other important things, too many medical things. It's not even in our brains thinking about us as a couple or having a relationship right now."
The relationship between Kardashian and the 2011 NBA Sixth Man of the Year has remained highly publicized since its inception, but the reality star has never cared how others viewed their marriage. Since Odom was admitted into the hospital, suffering through a four-day coma, multiple seizures, and brain damage, Kardashian has faithfully remained by his side.
The latest issue of People featuring the Khloé Kardashian interview hits stands on Friday (Oct. 30).
