Sam Shepherd, better known to world as Floating Points, has unveiled his long-awaited debut artist album Elaenia to stream in full. After nearly a dozen EPs, countless singles and more releases, Floating Points has finally put together a complete album worth of material and unveiled it to the world.
Elaenia is about as seamless a piece of music you will hear in the realm of electronic, jazz, ambient music today. It combines elements of electronic music and jazz expertly, utilizing live instrumentation, analog synths and more to crate elegant and powerful soundscapes over the course of the 7-track, 43-minute LP.
The composure, producer has put together his most complete work to date, combining all of the various influences found in his other EPs and singles and meshing them together into one work that builds into a great crescendo that is "Peroration Six."

In addition to the album, Floating Points will be heading out on tour over the next few weeks to perform the album live in Europe and the United States. The dates are scarce, but worth going to, especially in Brooklyn for the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival, where he will perform with an 11-piece orchestra.
