To make up for the delay of his new album, Curren$y just announced the dates for his upcoming Canal Street Confidential tour.
According to a photo shared on his Instagram account, the Jet Life rhymer will perform in 20 U.S. cites, making his first stop in Los Angeles on Nov. 5. His tour will also hit San Francisco, Chicago and New York before wrapping up in Baltimore exactly one month later on Dec. 5.
Curren$y’s new project is slated to drop on Dec. 4, nearly a month after its original release date. Canal Street Confidential is led by the August Alsina and Lil Wayne-assisted single, “Bottom of the Bottle,” which made its way to the Internet at the end of August and just received video treatment.
This looking forward to hearing the New Orleans rapper’s signature mellow, smoked out records, are in for something different this time around.
“This time, I really sat there with an open mind, listened and worked with a lot of people,” he said. “Everybody loves my normal spacey, slower stuff, but when I do more up-tempo records, it’s a change of pace. I wanted to transfer that and reflect it in the album.”
Canal follows Curren$y's handful of releases this year, including a surprise mixtape titled Cathedral, which he released in August. Prior to that he dropped Even More Saturday Night Car Tunes, the third installment to the series and Pilot Talk III, which released on a USB drive for $100.
In March of 2014, the former Cash Money rapper released The Drive-In Theatre as a BitTorrent Bundle. The tape garnished 3 million downloads with the BitTorrent Bundle accounting for 93 percent of downloads.
We're sure Curren$y and his team will come up with a clever rollout for this album as well. In the meantime, check out the video for "Bottom of the Bottle" below.
