Keke Palmer nailed her Aaliyah costume this Halloween and she even took it a step further by recreating the late singer's "Try Again" video. She showed off her costume and the remake on Instagram.

Although Palmer did not portray Aaliyah is Lifetime's 2014 biopic, she sure could have been in the running for the part and her costume choice is proof. With her bone straight hair, metallic smokey eyes, rhinestone bra and choker and black jeans, Palmer was spot on with her recreation of the year 2000 music video.

In a brief clip posted on social media, Palmer took on the video's intricate dance moves. In one shot, she's backed by two male dancers.

"Try Again" was released as the lead single for the soundtrack to the film Romeo Must Die, which also served as Aaliyah's first major movie role.

Aaliyah died in a plane crash in the Bahamas after the filming of her video for "Rock The Boat" in 2001. According to MTV, the singer died instantly when the plane, a Cessna 402B, exploded on impact just 200 feet beyond the end of a runway at Marsh Harbour International Airport on Abaco Island. She was 22 years old.

For those wondering if Palmer ever actually considered the Aaliyah role, she offered up some insight during an interview with the YBF.

"For a long time I felt as though I could do it," she revealed. "But then when I heard the movie was coming out and I didn't really think about going for the project because I just came off the TLC movie and I thought it was too much."

Palmer starred as Chilli in VH1's 2013 TLC biopic. She currently stars on Scream Queens alongside Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis. Palmer has also been working on new music. Last week, she released a video for "I Don't Belong to You."
