Lil Wayne has just announced a November release date for his No Ceilings 2 mixtape and it is due to drop on Thanksgiving this year (Nov. 26). No Ceilings 2 is a follow-up to his enormously successful No Ceilings mixtape, which was released back in 2008. No Ceilings was unleashed during the rapper's most successful period and included hits such as "Lollipop" "A Milli" and "Mrs. Officer," all of which peaked in the Top 100.
Billboard reported that the rapper announced the release via a tweet that read, "Let's do it... Thxgiving... lets eat!" Along with a photo of the album art.
The rapper has certainly been busy this year and has already released two separate hip-hop compilations, entitled Sorry 4 the Wait 2 and his Free Weezy album, but Lil' Wayne is not ruling the charts the way his once was just seven years ago. The rapper he mentored, Drake, is actually taking over. In an effort to get back on top he has been collaborating with both Drake and Future, performing live freestyles over songs "Back to Back" and "Where Ya At."
In other musical efforts, Lil Wayne is set to co-headline the just instated H.I.T. Festival, short for "History In Tampa," with fellow rapper Nas. The festival was produced by the ever-controversial WorldStarHipHop, which is an entertainment site that reports hip-hop news. They have also partnered with Vybe Nation in order to put on the event. In addition to Lil Wayne and Nas, the event will also feature Waka Flocka Flame, Fabolous and DJ Khaled & Friends amongst others.
The official release from WorldStarHipHop head Lee "Q" O'Denat read, "We've been part of the culture for a decade, and it's an honor to be able to continue that legacy with Vybe Nation. We are going to bring the house down," according to Billboard. The event is further being advertised as "the largest hip-hop even to take place in the south."
