All Hail Queen Adele. It appears that other artists are paying attention to the release date of her impending album 25. Acts Ellie Goulding, One Direction, Little Mix and even Justin Bieber are pushing their release dates forward to make way for 25, which is slated to drop late this month (Nov. 20). It seems that all of them know that there is no way that they can compete with the soulful singer's first release in three years.
According to MSN, a music insider said, "The major labels have realized it's essential to get out any big releases before then because from November 20, it's likely to be about one woman only. She will dominate pre-Christmas sales."
The insider, who remains unnamed, further said, "That's why Justin Bieber, Kylie Minogue and 1D are going head to head the week before - usually the record companies would want a No.1 album with artists that big but in this case they simply want to get the album out there before Adele." Reportedly, some releases as big as Beyonce or Coldplay are even being postponed until next year due to Adele's recent announcement.
"Hello" has been making some major waves on the charts and has already set several records in the music industry. It debuted at No. 1 and it was recently named the best-ever selling download. The single racked up 1,112,000 copies in a single week. She beat out rapper Flo Rida's "Right Round," which was the record holder with 636,000 copies downloaded. The music video also bested the new reigning Queen of pop, Taylor Swift's VEVO by achieving the most views online in just 24 hours.
It appears that even acts as huge as Goulding, One Direction, Bieber and Little Mix will have some major competition heading into the Christmas sales season.
