Pimp C: Posthumous Album 'Long Live The Pimp' to Be Released in December

Its been nearly ten years since Texas rap legend Pimp C died and fans are finally getting another posthumous album. Word on the Web is Long Live The Pimp will be released in December.

According to HipHopDX, the album, which was put together by the "Big Pimpin'" rapper's widow Chinara Butler, is available now for pre-order on iTunes and will be released through Mass Appeal.

"This album is the culmination of years of work from not just me, but also the amazing artists and producers who contributed to make it happen,” Butler reportedly said in a press release. “It combines several of the ideas and projects my husband began before his untimely passing. We hope the Trill fans enjoy it."

The 17 track album is slated to feature the likes of A$AP Rocky, Nas, Bun B, Lil Wayne, Slim Thug, Juicy J, David Banner and T.I. It’ll be the first full-length collection of new material from C since 2011’s Still Pimping.

Last week, Mass Appeal released the album's presumed first single "3 Way Freak" featuring Lil Wayne.

Back in July, former Ozone magazine publisher and editor-in-chief, Julia Beverly, released her biography of the rapper, appropriately titled Sweet Jones: Pimp C's Trill Life Story. The book was written under the guidance of Pimp C's mother and manager, Weslyn "Mama Wes" Monroe.

According to the book's website, Sweet Jones includes over 100 pages of color photos. Beverly reportedly interviewed more than 250 people including Bun B, Snoop Dogg and Master P for the book.

Pimp C died in West Hollywood in December 2007. In February 2008, the Houston Chronicle reported that "the combination of codeine and promethazine found in the rapper's system, coupled with the sleep disorder apnea, caused his death."
