Pop singer JoJo, who has made her return to the music industry for the first time since her 2006 sophomore album, The High Road, has taken to Instagram to post a touching tribute to her late father, Joel Levesque. The photo displays the young singer and her dad, who died at the age of 60 on Nov. 14, in a warm embrace.
"I missed you even while you were here," the 24-year-old wrote. "I will miss you infinitely more now that you're gone. Thank you for holding on as long as you did. I know you tried your best," The 24-year-old wrote in an emotional post. "You are free now. I will love you always, Dad. I can feel you with me. Rest now. In PEACE. I miss your voice. I wish more people could have heard it. I promise I will keep singing for you. Joel Maurice Levesque. January 8, 1955- November 14, 2015."
JoJo, born Joanna Levesque, stormed the pop scene with her 2004 debut hit, "Leave (Get Out)" before rolling out a number of hits including "Too Little, Too Late" and "How to Touch A Girl." The singer made her way back to the music scene over the summer when she debuted a triangle of hits, or "tringle" with Say Love," "Save My Soul" and "When Love Hurts." Having previously undergone drawn out legal issues with her former label, BlackgroundRecords, the "Baby It's You" singer has announced tour dates and recently discussed her triumphant return in an interview with Us Weekly. The singer admitted that she still gets told to "Get Out" daily, that she's been in love three times and that she's horrified by some of the outfits she used to rock even though she was just a teenager. When asked who she would hand-pick to be in her ultimate early 2000s girl group, she responded with chart-toppers Pink, Mandy Moore, Lil Kim and Christina Aguilera.
