At 5'4", Miranda Lambert may be small, but she's still a powerhouse. Now, at 30, after 10 years of solid touring in the national spotlight, she's decided that it's time to take a break and recharge her batteries. Lambert told Fox News that after this summer, she's going to stop touring for a while and get some much needed rest.
"This is the longest break I’ve ever had since I was 17, since I started playing music," the singer told Fox. "It’s kind of scary ’cause you just get your autopilot, and you know what you’re doing. And then it’s like, 'Wait a minute, do I really, do I remember how to do this?'"
After so many years on the road, one has to wonder if Lambert will even remember how to truly relax. The lifestyle of road living is hectic yet highly ordered ... travel, sleep, eating and rare moments of down time are all dictated by the day's schedule. Interviews, load-ins, sound checks, meet and greets and radio stops run like clockwork - even for the stars like Miranda. Being off the road means sleeping in until whenever, eating when you're hungry and having the freedom to do what you want when you want. While it will probably be heavenly for a while, Lambert has stayed so busy for so long that she may get bored long before she thinks she will and be chomping at the bit to get back out there.
