Jay Z is bringing his Made In America festival to the West Coast. Today (April 16), it was announced that the Budweiser-sponsored event will be in Los Angeles this year.
But, worry not, East Coast lovers. According to E! Online, Made In America will remain in its birthplace of Philadelphia. Yes, over Labor Day Weekend, the music festival will be simultaneously running in two major US markets. Hova is touting it as the first of its kind.
While the Philly show will presumably stay at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the L.A. edition of Made In America will be spread out throughout the City of Angels, taking place in areas downtown that stretch from City Hall to Grand Park.
"I love that the festival will be in the middle of the city. Not too far away. No disrespect to any other festival," Jay Z said during the announcement.
Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti expects 50,000 people to attend the event and doesn't worry about the impact all the visitors will have on the city - he believes it will only draw revenue.
Though past headliners have included Jay Z himself, Beyoncé, Pearl Jam and Nine Inch Nails, acts for the 2014 edition have yet to be announced, let alone whether or not the same bands will be in L.A. and Philadelphia (a la Leeds/Reading Festivals).
The newly bicoastal Budweiser Made In America Festival will be the third edition of the concert series, which aims to blend together genres to create one big musical party.
