Lunice has dropped his new EP entitled 180 via LuckyMe. Immediately upon the announcement of the surprise release, the track entitled "Burnt" was shared via the trap artist's Soundcloud but has since been removed. The Montreal-based producer, also known as one half of TNGHT with Hudson Mohawke, also announced that he will be supporting Madonna on the European stops on her Rebel Heart Tour.
The new release spans four tracks that were created between 2011 and 2012 prior to his highly-lauded One Hunned EP and even before TNGHT's inception, Pitchfork reports. For whatever reason, the artist felt that now was the right time to finally share them.
Interestingly enough, while the producer has earned international recognition, catching the attention of masses of trap-heads as well as Madonna, the artist has only previously released two short EPs as a part of his solo project before dropping 180. That's where the long list of collaborations and remixes comes in: he's worked with countless artists all over the sonic map including Azaelia Banks, Deerhunter and Foster the People, just to name a few.
As Dancing Astronaut points out, Lunice's upcoming dates opening for Madonna in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Antwerp, Mannheim, Zurich and Paris are likely to be some of the producer's biggest shows yet.
Meanwhile, the pop star has been sharing the stage with a number of other artists worth getting to know if you're not already familiar. Madonna showed her support for female DJs and producers by enlisting NYC-based DJ Mary Mac for the kick-off of the European leg of her tour in Koln earlier this month. Irish-born rapper Rejjie Snow, who has been based out of George and LA as of late, is opening for Madonna in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. Diplo, Sleepy Tom and Amy Schumer all opened for the icon during some North American stops earlier this Fall.
