Busta Rhymes has been a hip-hop heavy hitter for decades. His influence and legacy are widespread, from Twista to Yelawolf. Nicki Minaj never would have said "Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon" had it not been for Rhymes's verse on "Scenario." The rapper has worked with some of the biggest and best names in hip-hop, while releasing his own lyrically dizzying music, and has announced that he will be releasing a new album next year, 2016.
To celebrate Rhymes' legacy, Hot 97 has teamed up with the rapper to put on an enormous concert on Dec. 5 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The concert will include performances from Diddy, Fetty Wap, Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige and more.
Speaking of the concert, Rhymes told XXL, "I love to get on the stage to shut sh*t down. I love to do what I do. I think people are very clear what the results are when I'm on that stage; I step onto the home plate and swing it out the ballpark. The reason why I'm doing the concert is because it's just time. I just wanted to launch all these amazing things that I'm going to have happening. It's just a coming together of the A-list alumni."
It also appears that Rhymes is ready to put his legal troubles behind him and focus on making new music. Despite the longevity of his illustrious career, Rhymes has no intention of quitting, and wants to make his mark on today's hip-hop scene.

"I definitely want to embark on a lot of uncharted territory because that's the only thing at this stage in my career that keeps the torch lit and the flame burning from a passionate standpoint, keeping my desire to want to continue to go," he said. "I'm not only going to surprise y'all but I'm going to have a great time surprising myself. Of course I'm going to be doing everything that I love but I'm also going to be establishing new excitement for newer fans and new love from new fans."
