While hearing the word kitten and the name Channing Tatum in a sentence together could easily bring a smile to any woman's face, this video in particular might not have the same effect. The Hateful Eight star was scheduled to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday (Dec. 7), but unfortunately couldn't make it. The consolation prize: a video of the actor saying really mean things to an adorable kitten and then being attacked by said feline.
The mood in the video is set at a peaceful tone, with images of bright blue skies, rainbows, hearts, and fluffy pillows fill the area. Inspired by the forthcoming Quentin Tarantino film, the 35-year-old actor is featured in a segment called, "Channing Tatum Says 8 Hateful Things to a Kitten," where he spews profanity at an unsuspecting white and grey kitten.
Usually playing the good guy or eye candy in his roles, Tatum finally got a chance to show off his bad side like his fellow costars. Evidently, the kitten did too!
"You're such a piece of s***," Tatum told the kitten in the video. The insults only got worse from there, saying things like, "you smell like garbage and fish, bro" and "you know what sucks about you? You don't have thumbs, dude. That sucks for you."
Don't worry folks, the video was just a joke and no feelings were hurt in the process. Tatum is a well-known animal lover, especially with dogs. The actor and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, are the pet parents of a miniature Japanese Spitz named Meeka and a Pit Bull named Lulu.
The video serves as a hilarious promotion tactic for his new film. Tatum joins a lengthy star-studded cast including Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Walton Goggins, and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
The Hateful Eight surrounds a couple of bounty hunters trying to find shelter during a blizzard in post-Civil War Wyoming. The bounty hunters, a fugitive, and someone claiming to be a sheriff, ultimately find a place to stay. They're greeted by four other sketchy characters upon their arrival. The eight travelers soon learn someone's not telling the truth about their identity.
The Hateful Eight is expected to hit theaters on Christmas (Wednesday, Dec. 25).
