Lifetime has had its up and downs with biopics, but the next one promises to be really good! A few months ago, the network announced it would release a movie about Toni Braxton, and a teaser is finally here. Take a look at the clip below for a preview of "Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart."
Braxton, known for her hits such as "Unbreak My Heart," and "Breathe Again," started her career in 1989. She's satisfied her huge fan following with eight studio albums, and she's acted in several films and TV shows. Braxton was recently in a reality show about her extended family, Braxton Family Values.
Braxton has stayed strong through a number of personal trials, including a lupus diagnosis and bankruptcy. Most recently, she released a book, Unbreak My Heart: A Memoir. As in the Lifetime biopic, Braxton discusses the ups and downs of her life in the book.
The relatively unknown Lex Scott Davis plays Braxton in the Lifetime movie. Davis, who bears a similarity to Braxton, has appeared in films such as Colorblind and The Reunion. Let's hope this film does better than Lifetime's Aaliyah: Princess of R&B!
As previously reported, the biopic will premiere Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. and Lifetime will air Beyond The Headline: Toni Braxton, an hour-long special, afterward.
