According to a new interview with Goal, City goalkeeper, Willy Caballero, is confident that there is "no doubt" that his team can sign Messi. He says that his fellow Argentinian would sign with the English team because of his friendship with Aguero. Caballero admits that this is only a rumor, but the idea of signing Messi to City is definitely talked about at his club.

The expensive players that the club has at the moment shows that it can deal with high prices," he said. "Because of that it seems that they can try to sign Messi if he decides to leave Barcelona. No doubt that City can get Messi, but everything depends on what Leo wants to do."

Aguero, though, adds plenty of doubt to the rumor, according to ESPN FC.

"It's very difficult for Leo to leave Barcelona, because he's played there since he was very young and it's not easy for him to think about another team," the forward explained to Goal in his own interview with the publication. "So no... Hopefully he can be here at City obviously, but of course it's always the player's decision and I think he's very comfortable and very calm in Barcelona."
