Just before Christmas, Chicago rapper King Louie was shot. After surviving multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head, Louie has given a series of video interviews. During one of his most recent sit-downs, the “Drilluminati” rapper said that Drake's OVO owl saved his life.
Louie reportedly got two OVO-inspired tattoos (one of the label's signature owl next to one ear and another of Drake's "6 God prayer hands" behind his other ear) in December 2014. It is assumed that Louie is somehow associated with the Toronto rapper’s imprint. He has an OVO hashtag in his Twitter bio.
More recently, Louie talked with RevoltTV and gave an account of the nearly fatal shooting. He also went on to explain that he believes the OVO owl saved his life.
"The owl saved my life, though,” he declared. “If it had hit me where the owl was, I would've died probably. I told Drake that on the 'gram. Bro, the owl saved my life."
In addition, Louie revealed that he noted a recurring siting of owls while watching television in the hospital.
"It was hella owls just poppin' up...every show for an hour -- like we'd turn the channel, we kept seeing owls," he explained. "What the f*ck is this, a sign? Me and her Googled, like, 'what's the significance of owls?', and it was just like a bunch of stuff. Like damn, the owl saved my life, man. Like foreal, foreal. No bullsh*t.”
Louie previously opened up about the shooting with CNN's Don Lemon.
"They said the suspect shot 22 times and I was hit seven times," he said. "Three of the slugs are still with me today - two in my chest, one in my head. The devil's working overtime, that's what's going on in Chicago."
