Selena Gomez is "done" talking about Justin Bieber. After being bombarded with questions about her ex-flame, in a new interview the "Hands to Myself" singer dismissed inquiries about Bieber and his "My Girl" serenade ahead of the 2015 American Music Awards.
When asked about the incident in a Rolling Stone profile, Gomez was blunt about her intentions with the press. "Well, I am sorry, first of all. And honestly, what I would love to be printed is that I am so beyond done talking about that, and him," she said.
It's unfortunate for Gomez that she is questioned about the relationship with Bieber so frequently when she is trying to reinvent herself as an artist with latest album Revival.
When questioned about the difficulty of attending the AMAs due to the constant questions, Gomez further said, "I don't alter my life because of what people are going to talk about. If I go and have a great time, I live my life and nothing is going to dictate how I feel unless I let it."
Gomez does seem to understand how the song "Same Old Love" directly points to Bieber in the media, but also expressed that she regrets nothing in her life.
"It's a song about a cycle, a cycle that people understand," she explained. "It drives you mad, but it's beautiful. People have seen most of the choices that I've made in my life. And I love every choice that I've made. Because now I understand how to apply that to my music. This is who I am. I'm glad my life was never perfect."
The event in question was when a video surfaced of Bieber singing the song "My Girl" to Gomez at a hotel bar on Nov. 20 and the inter webs were abuzz soon after. It was the first time that the duo had been spotted together in over a year. Following the serenade the two then roamed the streets for several hours. But based on some commentary that Bieber gave on Ellen, it was no surprise the two were sighted together.
"I just want her to be happy, honestly," he said to the show's host. He also finally admitted that his hit songs "What Do You Mean?" and "Sorry" were written about his on-again, off-again relationship with Gomez.
