Since announcing his cancer diagnosis to the world in November, Boosie Badazz has released an album titled In My Feelings (Goin’ Thru It). Following the project’s release, the Baton Rouge rapper discussed his diagnosis with Revolt TV.
As noted by HotNewHipHop, this marks his first time speaking to the media about the diagnosis since he posted and then deleted an Instagram post revealing he had the disease.
In the minute long-clip, a visibly emotional Boosie reflects on receiving the heavy news and cites adversity as a source of inspiration for his music.
“That’s part of me with my music, that’s what probably will never get me to fall off, because I keep going through stuff and I keep talking about it,” he said.
The video, which ends with a “coming soon” note, suggests there will be more to come in regards to the interview.
Since discovering his kidney cancer, Boosie has undergone a successful procedure to remove the cancerous tumor.
Following the procedure, Boosie wrote via social media, “I want to thank each and everyone for all the support and love. Surgery went well..God is good! Next step recovery! Cancer has been removed from Boosie kidney… Thanks to all Boosie family and friends and all my real Boosie fans for all the prayers from #badazzmusicsyndicate… I am a #cancersurvivor."
Earlier this week, Boosie shared with fans that he has a biopic in the works. He posted an Instagram picture of himself and Jamal Woolard, the actor who starred as Biggie in the 2009 film Notorious. He shared the photo with a telling caption, “n talks with the real sharks of the movie industry n it's official "BOOSIE" the movie is on the way ‼be on the look out for casting call , This Movie will be epic.”
No word on when Boosie Badazz's interview with Revolt will be released in its entirety.
