The Band Perry are taking the lyrics literally for its new single "Chainsaw." Today (May 13), the country trio released the official music video for its latest Pioneer single, and they're taking down the forest for the trees.
The music video opens with a short sketch for a tree removal service... one that performs a very specific kind of tree chopping. You know those stereotypical love stories where a couple carves their initials into a big ol' oak tree, forever cementing their love in the world of nature? Well, this place cuts down those big wooden beauties when "happily ever after" doesn't last forever.
To play even more into the song's lyrics, the company is called Love Is Shady Tree Removal Service, named after a key line in the song's post-chorus.
After the company confirms that this man's love has gone sour and the tree needs to be cut down, the three members of The Band Perry themselves go into the expansive, lush Oregon forest and begin slashing down redwoods as the weeping heartbroken look on.
In between shots of the band being badasses in the forest with some power tools, a shiny performance clip is shown, with frontwoman Kimberly Perry looking as menacing as ever.
