Steve Angello's Size Records is hitting the reset button. Entering possibly its most important year ever, the label has announced a creative relaunch. To do it, Angello brought in Made By Forest CEO Jesper Palsson to spearhead new artwork and branding.
Speaking about his efforts to implement his vision into the Size aesthetic, Palsson said, "We wanted to create something entirely new. Still with the aim to flirt with earlier fragments from the label's history. The goal was to provoke, experiment and to create visually driven artworks with video as the hero format."
The label gave a sneak peak at what the artwork could look like and it is an interesting change in direction. The video features a nude woman (SFW) being slowly covered in chocolate sauce or some other gooey dark substance. It is much more seductive than past creative pieces.
This is not the first creative overhaul that we have seen from Size in the past couple of years. The label had been using the same style of artist for the majority of its decade in existence until 2014 when they ditched the simple logo cover and went for a more artistic look with slow moving paint that was also featured in short promo videos. The label has released music from the likes of Laidback Luke, Matisse & Sadko, AN21, Don Diablo, Afrojack and more.
The first major project that Size Records is focusing on is the release of Steve Angello's debut album Wild Youth on Jan. 22. Half of it was unveiled in the middle of November and the rest will be released in January. Get ready for plenty more music from Size with a new look in 2016.
