In an extremely charitable move, Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz has purchased a five-bedroom house for a family of eleven that had fallen on hard times.
According to HipHopDX, the "Riot" rapper donated the large house through his TRU foundation. This follows the charitable donations 2 Chainz has made with the profits from his "Dabbin Santa Christmas" sweaters. Along with its five bedrooms, the donated house contains two bathrooms.
2 Chainz posted a video to his YouTube channel depicting the family entering their new home. The family of eleven includes a set of twins.
2 Chainz was made aware of the impoverished family's situation through a GoFundMe campaign. The campaign was created by Atlanta's Progression Church after members received news that the family had fallen on hard times. He expressed that he is not looking for tax rebates, recognition, plaudits, or praise from his charitable actions.
"This right here ain't gonna save me taxes," he says. "It's in the beginning of the year. I'm looking forward to seeing their smiles. I'm looking forward to the kids growing up knowing that Uncle 2 Chainz came through...Keep praying. You gotta have faith. You gotta believe."
The family's patriarch, a father of nine, became ill and could not work to support his large family. All eleven members were living in a rat and pest-infested two-bedroom home, from which they were about to be convicted. That is, of course, until the church and 2 Chainz stepped in.
"We ain't know where we was gonna go," the father says. "We was not looking forward to nothing like this. It is way over our head, but we gonna learn how to deal with it. But we thank God for it. ... Now we don't have to cry no more. We don't have to worry nothin no more."
