Despite the hype and pressure for both teams headed into today's big game, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton surprised the media this week by saying he isn't feeling any of it.
"I don't get nervous," the star QB said, according to ESPN.com. "I've been playing football for too long for me to get nervous. I used to dream of being in this type of position. This is why you play football games. I idolized the quarterbacks that would be in these positions and dream like, 'Man, I hope, I pray I get an opportunity to do it.' People will be talking about the 2015 Panthers for years to come, and shame on us if we don't capitalize on ii."
Newton is a tough QB for defenses, which Cardinals defensive tackle Calais Campbell spoke about this week.
"It affects the rush a little bit, but you still have to continue to rush because he still throws the ball very well," he said, according to The LA Times. "When he throws it you have to throw your pressure at him. But you have to expect his ability to run the ball with his legs. It's a process. We study film and try to make sure we're prepared in knowing how and when he likes to run and try to do our best to stop it."
