What started out as just an odd spout of Tweets coming from the fingers of B.o.B. has turned into quite possibly the greatest rap beef ever. B.o.B. spouted out a whole host of conspiracy theory tweets about the earth apparently being flat and Neil deGrasse Tyson clapped back with some facts of his own. Then B.o.B. decided that he wanted to take things to the next level with an odd diss track "Flatline" with an anti-Semitic twist. The scientist has recruited his nephew to clap back over Drake's "Back To Back" beat in the freshly titled "Flat To Fact."
While the rapping may not be at the level of some of the game's best or flow at the level of his adversary, B.o.b., the fact that there is someone Tyson's family who is capable of coming up with three minutes worth of raps to clap back at B.o.B. is newsworthy enough.
Tyson's nephew comes at Mr. Ray in the first verse with lines that borrow heavily from Drake's "twitter fingers turn to trigger fingers," saying "Yeah, guitar strings turned to Twitter things / Yeah, you getting bodied by a young king / I'm far from famous but I got an education / And I'm putting it to use to make a better."
He then comes back in the second hook with some more vicious bars, namechecking Donald Trump in the process.
"I mean, please, check him for a wire or an earpiece / Please, is Donald Trump that's feeding you all of these / Stupid bits of information keeps you on your knees / I know we got freedom of speech, but Bobby please / Somebody stop this, or call the drop squad, because they got this"
If someone asked you to pick out who would get into a rap beef in 2016, Neil DeGrasse Tyson and B.o.B. would have probably been one of the last options. Bask in the glory of this.
