Rihanna's Dolce & Gabbana Headphones Cost $9,000, Sold Out in 24 Hours

Fans can own Rihanna’s headphones by Dolce & Gabbana, but it will cost them. The "Work" singer ignited some extreme shopping in a photo posted to Twitter, which showed her wearing designer jewel-encrusted headphones while listening to her new album ANTI. The headphones cost a cool $9,000 and due to RiRi's impact, the audio equipment sold out in just 24 hours.

Some fans of the singer immediately recognized the headphones as Dolce & Gabbana from the Swarovski collection, which were first spotted on the fall 2015 runway show. The fashion line partnered with high-end audio company Frends to envision a line of bejeweled, fur-covered or leather audio equipment. The devices are so high-end that the cheapest pair of headphones would set the purchaser back $3,500.

Refinery 29 contacted Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana in order to find out if the headphones did indeed sell out due to Rihanna’s repping of them on her Twitter account, but have yet to receive a definite answer. But within 24 hours of her post, the headphones are also out of stock on the Frends website in addition to D&G.

In other Rihanna news, the pop star just released a new collaboration with Drake called “Work” as the release date for her album ANTI fast approaches. Rumors have been swirling about the exact release date for ANTI, including a suspected drop on Black Friday, but it has now been confirmed that it will be released this upcoming Friday (Jan. 29). ANTI is Rihanna’s eighth full-length studio album and the first one that she has released in over three years. Her last album, Unapologetic, was released in November 2012.
