Last Shadow Puppets' Miles Kane Says He Chose to Be a Frontman Over am Arctic Monkeys Member

As The Last Shadow Puppets gear up to release their second studio album together (and first in nearly 8 years), Miles Kane recently elaborated on why he prefers to be a frontman, citing his "hard-on" for the position as the reason why he chose not to be a member of Arctic Monkeys.

During the joint interview with Q, Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner seemed pretty firm about his answer to whether Kane was an option to replace Andy Nicholson when he left the band in 2006. "Well... no. I think because that was when [Kane] just started [short-lived band] The Rascals. That was just all happening as well," NME reports.

Kane then gave his statement on why he never joined the band, stating "I really wanted to be a frontman at that time. I hadn't been a frontman. I had a hard-on for that," adding: "We're fortunate that we are best mates and that we can even do this again and that's enough, I guess. I don't want to say in an ideal world we would be in a [full-time] band [together] because we both love what we do aside from this."

In the same interview, the band also jokingly stated that the only difference between the new album and their 2008 debut, The Age Of The Understatement, is that they'll be fighting over who controls the microphone.

The duo recently released a rocking new single titled "Bad Habits" along with a complementary official music video, both of which came after a few teaser videos that were posted to their newly-revived social media accounts.

The new record, Everything You've Come To Expect, will be released on April 1 of this year, and soon thereafter, the band will perform a highly-anticipated set at this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
