Future is firing back at Ciara’s $15 Million lawsuit against him for slander and libel, and reportedly think that the lawsuit is “absurd.” Ciara’s lawsuit states that Future used a series of tweets and interviews to slander her, but the rapper reportedly finds this absurd considering that Ciara has also dissed him openly in the press. Ciara has since moved on with NFL star Russell Wilson although the she and Future share a son together.
According to TMZ, a source close to the rapper finds it absurd because she has also slandered him in the press and cites her platinum selling 2015 hit, “I Bet,” as an example.
Future believes that the lyrics (“You know that it hurts your pride / But you thought the grass was greener on the other side / I bet you start loving me as soon as I start loving someone else / Somebody better than you”) are directed at him, and the alleged rumors that he cheated on the singer.
Since Future believes that he could have filed a lawsuit against Ciara for those lyrics, he is considering shooting back with a lawsuit of his own now that she has made the first move.
Ciara’s lawsuit cites several interviews and a series of tweets attacking everything from her parenting skills to new beau Russell Wilson. One specific example was a comment Future made about a photo of Wilson pushing their son in a baby stroller, saying, “She probably set him Russell up. You letting him catch that photo. Leave my son out of all the publicity stunts.”
As well as the other interviews cited, her lawsuit also mentions a Twitter rant where Future wrote, “This b*tch got control problems… I gotta go through lawyers to see baby future.”
Her lawsuit further claims that she makes every effort to ensure that Future sees his son and that there have been 19 visitations since December 2014.
