PVRIS have released a ghostly new all black-and-white music video for their synth-pop hit "Smoke" off of their popular 2014 debut album White Noise, and even if you already love this track, the visual will make you adore it that much more.
In the video, the band members appear behind a cloud of white smoke, with frontwoman Lynn Gunn's silhouette delivering the song's undeniably flawless vocals. It's very simple at its core, but its effects seem to go along with the themes of the song and album as a whole. The gentle song, which is the new album's lead track, has a slower tempo than some of the other songs, but rounds itself out with a powerful singalong chorus.
"Smoke" is the band's fifth overall music video they've released from the album, the first of which was for lead single "My House," a feat that shows how truly likeable the record is. The band made their live television debut at last year's APMA's and also recently performed two tracks on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“The best thing about this style of music, with electronics and programming, is that you can really create a vision that’s not restricted to three or four instruments," singer Gunn recently told Upset Magazine. "You can literally make any sound you want. You can create any atmosphere you want. The possibilities are endless.”
The Massachussetts-based band will head out on tour with Fall Out Boy and Demi Lovato at the end of the month, before taking their brilliant electric show overseas to the UK and Europe for their own stretch of headlining performances. You can check out all of their currently scheduled tour dates via their official website.
White Noise is out now via Rise Records in both hard copy vinyl LP and digital formats.
