Kygo just released a seven minute preview of his debut artist album Cloud Nine. The LP was originally supposed to be released today, but it has been delayed indefinitely. That is probably smart given all of the hype surrounding Kanye West's The Life Of Pablo and the fact that it appears that he isn't done with it.
In a statement accompanying the preview, he apologized for the delay and shared that he has been working hard on the LP and hopes to see it out very soon.
"Hey guys, I'm sorry to say the album is going to be a little delayed. I've been working on this album for a year and a half, so I don't want to rush anything now in the end and I want it to be perfect when I release it! Its 99% done so it's very close now!"
The preview contains eight or nine different tracks and the full sampling of songs provides a revealing picture of what to expect from the album. There are songs that have the signature piano sound from the Kygo tropical house tool kit, but then he experiments with more guitar-based tracks, some 1980's influences and some piano house tracks.
Most of the tracks have vocalists on them, though none of them are listed yet.
None of the songs in the preview are tracks that he has released, such as "Firestone," "Stay" or "Steal The Show." He hasn't shared a tracklist, but it is a promising sign to see all of these new songs in the preview.
A rep for Kygo confirmed that there is no new release date set yet. Stream the preview below and stay tuned for when Cloud Nine will be released.
