Washington D.C.'s Sweetlife Festival has announced its 2016 lineup. The one-day festival makes the most of its one-day format, the festival will be headlined by The 1975, Halsey, Flume and Grimes.
Also included in the lineup of just 13 artists are PartyNextDoor, Blondie, Eagles of Death Metal, Mac Demarco and Shamir.
Despite its size, the lineup has some nice diversity. Flume is the lone DJ on the bill, though Grimes and local group Prinze George have strong electronic influences in their music, mixed with some pop and indie.
R&B and funk will be brought by Thundercat, Shamir and PartyNextDoor, while the bulk of the lineup will be concentrated on rock and indie will The 1975, Halsey, Blondie, DIIV, Wolf Alice and Mac Demarco.
Sweetlife will take place on Saturday May 14 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion, just outside of Washington, D.C. in Columbia, Maryland. The festival is put on by the Sweetgreen Corporation, which uses the music festival as an opportunity to promote good foods and sustainable practices. See the full list of cooks and local food vendors here.
Sweetlife has shortened its format compared to last year when it was a full two days. Last year's lineup featured Kendrick Lamar, Calvin Harris, The Weeknd, Wet, Lucius, Charli XCX, Phantogram, Bleachers, Vance Joy, Vic Mensa and others.
