Corrine Bailey Rae Releases New 'Been to the Moon' Music Video & Tracklist for Upcoming Album

Corrine Bailey Rae is back from her music hiatus, six years after releasing her last studio album. In order to give fans a taste of what's to come on her upcoming third studio album, The Heart Speaks in Whispers, the British singer/songwriter debuted the first single, "Been To The Moon," along with a music video for the song.

The visuals show the 37-year-old England native as an astronaut decked out in a golden jumpsuit, who crash lands onto a new planet. As she explores the unfamiliar territory, Bailey Rae is seen playing in the sand dunes, taking notes about her discoveries. The video for "Been To The Moon" acts as a metaphor for finding new love, as well as, the extremities people go through in their relationships.

Bailey Rae sings, "I've been to the moon so gently / I've been where you are, God help me / I've been to the moon and stars for you / When I was yours just to prove that you're true."

She worked with Favourite Colour: Black director Chris Turner to bring the visuals to life. Bailey Rae took to her personal Facebook account to reveal how much fun she had shooting the video and how it ranked with her other music videos.

The song is featured on her upcoming album, The Heart Speaks in Whispers. It could also mark a representation of art imitating life. Bailey Rae remarried in 2013 to producer Steve Brown, after losing her first husband, saxophonist Jason Rae, to a methadone and alcohol accidental overdose in 2008. She has known Brown since 1997.

"If you have a time in your life where you weren't happy, and in fact couldn't imagine ever being happy again, then to rediscover it is incredible," Bailey Rae told Independent.

Corrine Bailey Rae's forthcoming album, The Heart Speaks in Whispers, is scheduled for release on May 13. Fans can expect to hear guest appearances from Esperanza Spalding, Moses Sumney, and more, according to fuse.tv.
