Last night (June 7), George Strait took to the stage one last time as he gave his farewell performance and retired from touring.
CMT reports that Strait, along with some of his musician buddies, played to a record-breaking crowd of 104,793 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The network's website also reports that Strait superseded the indoor concert attendance record for North America previously set by the Rolling Stones in 1981 when the band drew 87,500 concertgoers to the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.
Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride took the stage with Strait.
"I can't tell you how excited I am to be here tonight," Strait said to the crowd. "It's been on my mind since we started this tour two years ago!"
Each guests performer sang two songs with Strait. All returned to help him sing "All My Ex's Live in Texas" and close out the show.
