Eminem will be keeping it old school by re-issuing The Slim Shady LP in cassette tape form. He announced the project in a Twitter post this past Friday (March 4) but didn’t give an indication as to when the tape will be released other than “coming soon.”
The tweet that the rapper sent out additionally had a link to the Shady Records website, which gave avid fans the opportunity to sign up for an early edition of the cassette tape as well as merchandise.
The Slim Shady LP can be counted as Eminem’s second album according to Billboard and it was unleashed onto the music industry on February 23, 1999. It then proceeded to climb the charts until it hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Some notable songs that appeared on the album where “My Name Is,” “Just Don’t Give a F*ck” and “Guilty Conscience.”
The music world hasn’t heard a lot from the Detroit based rapper recently, but Eminem is slated to perform at three Lollapalooza festivals in South America. His last album, entitled The Marshall Mathers LP 2, was released back in 2013.

In other Eminem news, it recently came out that the rapper, along with 50 Cent, passed on “See You Again,” which was made into a hit by Wiz Khalifa. “See You Again” arguably would’ve been one of their biggest charting hits if they had signed on to produce it.
“At the time we had to make a decision between doing [the soundtrack for the boxing movie Southpaw] and the song for Fast & Furious,” 50 said to XXL. “And [“See You Again”] was a huge success for Wiz Khalifa and them. [Eminem] decided to do Southpaw because he was invested in the project.”
