DJ Addresses Rumors That Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses Will Join AC/DC on Tour

Jason Bailey of Atlanta Radio 100.5 insinuated that a “very very good source” informed him that Axl Rose will be joining AC/DC on tour for the last 10 shows, standing in for Brian Johnson following his departure for medical reasons.

The Guns N’ Roses frontman was seen in Atlanta this past weekend, and as reported by MSL from GNRTruth he was there to participate in AC/DC rehearsals. While it is not confirmed what exactly the rehearsals were for, rumors are flying. And radio DJ Bailey has jumped on the rumors bandwagon.

“This is what I’m being told,” Bailey said according to Alternative Nation. “Axl was meeting with the AC/DC group, because it’s all but a done deal that Axl will front AC/DC for the 10 remaining shows. All 10, including Atlanta.”

He further said, “From what I was told, this was all kind of new inside information to me, Angus is a very black and white guy. He’s like, Brian, for health reasons, can’t continue fronting the band. He was supposed to retire after the last tour, so they wanted to continue going out on the road and continue making music, so if you can’t do it, we appreciate your services, but the show must go on. They’re in town, they were auditioning people for the job, and then they flew Axl in, again, this is from my source.”

Despite the reports that Rose will be joining AC/DC for the last 10 dates of their tour, the band has not confirmed this definitively in any statement. They did release a statement explaining lead singer Johnson’s departure from the tour, citing that he had suffered hearing loss and would be risking total hearing loss.

In January, Guns N’ Roses announced that they would be headlining both Coachella Music & Arts Festival as well as playing massive arena shows at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 8 and 9. The reunion was particularly notable due to the original line-up being reunited, and it appeared that guitarist Slash and front man Rose had put their long-running feud to rest.
