Tokyo Police Club are preparing to release their 2016 EP, Melon Collie And The Infinite Radness (Part 1), on April 8 through Team 8 Recordings, but this week we were treated to a brand new song to wet our appetites. The Canadian indie rockers shared the track "PCH," which is fitting moving into Spring and, eventually, Summer. Listen to this new song below.
The A.V. Club premiered this new track and also shared a description of it from singer-bassist David Monk.
"It was our one day off back in Toronto in the middle of a long, freezing Canadian winter tour and we wanted to spend it doing something 'non-tour-y,'" he explained. "We had this song floating around, 'PCH,' that I had written in LA at one time-I was actually in Malibu when I came up with it, looking out over this crazy huge mountain canyon. I had lots of delay on my voice and this giant melody came out like I was gonna fill that space. So to give us a break from the cold ass winter, we called up our old friend Jon Drew, holed up in his warm studio for a day and recorded a song about a much sunnier place."

Tokyo Police Club's new EP, which is clearly going to be a multi-part series of releases, gets its name from a similarly titled Smashing Pumpkins album, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
