Jennifer Lopez has been linked to different men and even been married three times. The diva recently reflected about her past relationships with Ben Affleck and former husband Marc Anthony.
Lopez and Affleck were together for nearly two years before they ended their relationship in 2004. The pair was dubbed "Bennifer" and was engaged but they decided to call off their wedding.
"I think different time, different thing. Who knows what could've happened? But there was a genuine love there," she said, according to People Magazine.
The American Idol judge even said that the first time she met Affleck, she felt something different. But they struggled with their public relationship since the media would scrutinize them and monitor their every move.
"I felt like ... 'Okay, this is it.' [But] sometimes I feel like what you think people are and how you see them when you love them is different than when they reveal later," she added.
Aside from Affleck, Lopez also reflected on her failed marriage with singer Anthony, which ended in 2012, admitting that it "was devastating and awful," especially since they have twins, Max and Emme, who are 8 years old.
"It was devastating and awful. I think both Marc and I thought at the time we would be together for the next 40 years until we die. It was the biggest disappointment of my life so far. [But] I felt like at that time I had lost my way a little bit, of who I was in trying to make the marriage work," Lopez said during The Jess Cagle Interview to the editorial director of People and Entertainment Weekly.
Although it was hard for her, the singer said that she felt empowered after filing a divorce, making her realize that she was doing the right thing.
Lopez started dating Casper Smart in October 2011 and the two have been an item ever since.
According to Lopez, she balances her relationship with Smart and the father of her twins, Anthony. She even said that the two are a big part in making her kids and her family happy, Entertainment Weekly reported.
