Alicia Keys to Join 'The Voice' as a Coach for the 11th Season

Alicia Keys will join hit competition show The Voice as a coach for the 11th season. The Voice has had several changes lately: Miley Cyrus is replacing Gwen Stefani , and Keys is standing in for Pharrell. Keys' participation was confirmed March 25.

While Stefani and Pharrell are exiting the show, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will remain for the 11th season according to Billboard. The Voice is known for switching judges frequently, and past judges have included Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green and Usher.

The Voice has enjoyed continued success on NBC and remains one of the most watched shows during both fall and spring seasons. It has also outlasted American Idol, which ends its run in April.

In other Alicia Keys news, her 5-year-old son Egypt was listed as a co-producer on Kendrick Lamar’s surprise album Untitled, Unmastered. The release was full of rough cuts from around the time he was working on his Grammy-winning album To Pimp a Butterfly.

“As parents of creative children, this is an amazing day in music,” Keys and husband Swizz Beatz told Entertainment Weekly. “We have always encouraged Egypt to create the music he feels, and as much as he has fun with it, he works very hard and is always practicing. There’s so many talented kids in the world, and we admire Kendrick for supporting the next generation of amazing artists. May we always cultivate and support the dreams of our children.”
