Korn Announces Expanded Edition of ‘Paradigm Shift’ Album, Includes New Tracks and Live Material

Nu metal rock group Korn is back with a new album... sort of. The Paradigm Shift, which originally dropped back in October 2013, will be re-released as an "expanded edition" this summer, carrying both new tracks as well as live material.

Led by "Hater" –– the band's newest single set to hit the airwaves tomorrow (June 19) and be available for sale on June 23 –– the new Paradigm Shift tracks were recorded in a rather unusual fashion. Frontman Jonathan Davis recorded his vocals in Bakersfield, California, and subsequently shipped it to the other members of the band so that they may add their parts.

In speaking of the single, Davis appears to hold an incredible level of pride and excitement, claiming it is the "first empowering song" he's ever written. He recently told Billboard, "In the world, everyone has haters. Everyone has someone who hates on you 'cause you have something they want."

Also included on the expanded edition of the album will be songs Davis claims the group had worked on during their days in the Paradigm Shift sessions, however, never made the final cut.

The October 2013 album marked the return of the band's guitarist, Brian "Head" Welch. It debuted at Number 8 on the Billboard 200 that month.

Perhaps to celebrate the release of the expanded edition of Paradigm Shift, Korn will hit the road and make several appearances at festivals throughout the country. The first is a stop at the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival in Devore, California on July 5. The group will then be a part of the Rockaholica Cruise from Key West in late September and the Louder Than Life festival on October 4.
