Noel Gallagher Says Axl Rose Won't Join AC/DC, Set to Release New Album Next Year

Rumors about Axl Rose joining AC/DC to replace frontman Brian Johnson on the band's tour recently emerged, but according to Noel Gallagher, the reports are wrong and the Guns N' Roses singer will not be joining the band.

Although Gallagher claimed that he is a fan of Guns N' Roses, he told Matthew Johns of the Australia's Triple M in an interview that the rumors are incorrect, saying, "Wrong, that’s wrong," according to Standard UK.

Rose was seen leaving an AC/DC rehearsal studio, which sparked the speculation that he will be joining the band since Johnson was obliged by his doctors to rest due to health issues.

Meanwhile, Gallagher also spoke about his own music.

In February 2015, Gallagher released his second album, Chasing Yesterday, which is his second LP with High Flying Birds. It followed his self-titled debut album that was dropped in 2011.

"I'm halfway through making a record now. I'll be back in [the studio] during May when I have some time. Then I'll get it finished by Christmas, hopefully," Gallagher said, NME reported. "That is absolutely best-case scenario, that it's done in time for Christmas and I'll be able to sit on my arse for three months at the start of 2017, watching Man City's glorious run to football domination."

But the musician did not reveal more details of the album because according to him, he doesn't want to talk about it "until it is already finished."

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will be back on tour later this month, which will kick off in Glasgow at the SSE Hydro on April 21 and will culminate at the end of April at Bournemouth's BIC. The band is also set to play in Aberdeen, Leeds, Liverpool, and Birmingham.
