Rihanna keeps herself busy with multiple projects at a time and it looks like she just added another business venture to her plate to satisfy the glam goddess living inside of all her fans. She is collaborating with LVMH to release her very own makeup brand called Fenty Beauty in the Fall of 2017. The deal will include an entire new collection of beauty products.
The Kendo division of LVMH Moët Hennesy Louis Vuitton has teamed up with one of the highest-selling artists in entertainment today to introduce a fun new line of cosmetics. The "Kiss it Better" singer is known for slaying everything from red carpet appearances to the streets of New York and setting trends without even trying, which is why the company jumped at the opportunity to work with her.
Rihanna will play a vital role in the development of the products, her brand, as well as, the longevity of their partnership. Kendo is retailed by LVMH's Sephora perfumery chains and other stores. The company will offer the 28-year-old Barbados native an eclectic team of creative talent to help with the process and access to global reach in distribution.
"Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a beauty rocket ship that will appeal to a huge and diverse global audience," said David Suliteanu, Chief Executive Officer of Kendo, according to WWD.com. "We are aiming for the stars. Kendo is honored to work with Rihanna."
This isn't the first time the multi-Grammy Award winner has been tapped to join the cosmetics field. In 2013, Rihanna collaborated with MAC Cosmetics on a limited-edition, four-part collection called RiRi Hearts MAC. The shades instantly sold out. Rihanna also became the face of Viva Glam lipstick in 2014 to help raise money for AIDS research.
The controversial artist doesn't only want her fans looking like rock stars, but she wants them smelling like them too. Rihanna produced seven fragrances for Parlux Ltd. so far and she doesn't plan on stopping there. Puma called on the island songstress for a clothing and shoe deal. The items have been flying off the shelves. Her next shoe idea? Be on the look out for her furry sandals.
"Our Rihanna business continues to flourish," said Diana Espino, Global Vice President of Marketing and Brand Development. "What she produces has the authenticity of a fashion icon and an entertainment trendsetter. She is really a developer," she noted, that in an era of social media transparency, "the consumer knows it."
Limited information has been released about Rihanna's makeup collaboration with LVMH. Rihanna's brand will be the third major color cosmetics project Kendo has represented, following Kat Von D Beauty and Marc Jacobs Beauty.
