In all of the interesting music news you have seen this week that is probably a headline you didn't expect. Soulja Boy, known for his hits in the late 2000's like "Crank That," "Kiss Me Through The Phone" and "Turn My Swag On" made him an instant sensation, but also hated by many who derided his lack of "intelligent" lyrics. However since then he has slowly built a business empire that apparently just got a massive boost to the tune of $400 million if the rapper is to be believed.
According to some posts on social media, Soulja Boy says he just signed a $400 million deal, though he thinks he was low-balled on the deal that could have been worth two or three billion. He does shout out Beyoncé and her new album Lemonade for his writing credit on "Hold On."
He claims he is worth $25 million now, which could come from his music sales in the late 2000s and then other new business ventures such as an official app, SBeezy Lights and a branded hover board.
He says an official story is coming soon, so we will see the official story then.
$400 million deal confirmed. I still they think they low balled me though. I was thinking 2 or 3 billion..
