Breakaway Music Festival has announced its line-up for 2016, which features Young Thug, RL Grime and Ty Dolla $ign. These three are just a few of the big names on the bill, and the headliners are just a preview of the rest of the festival.
Breakaway is known as being a largely hip-hop and dance music festival and other acts include Dillon Francis, Rae Sremmurd, Alison Wonderland, Benny Benassi, Cheat Codes, Designer, D.R.A.M., Elephante, Gryffin, Hippie Sabotage, Jerreau, Lil Uzi Vert, Lost Kings, Madeintyo, Ookay, Prince Fox, Skizzy Mars and Waka Flocka.
Rae Sremmurd is on tour and supporting their upcoming sophomore album.
Breakaway is slated to take place at the Ohio Expo Center on Aug. 26-27. The two-day general admission tickets run for $85 and two day VIP tickets run for $250 according to Your EDM. There are also one-day tickets available at the festival website.
In a statement to Billboard, the co-founder of Prime Social Group Adam Lynn said, “We wanted the 2016 lineup to resonate with a wide audience while still connecting with our core Breakaway community. We’re confident the line-up does just that are are looking forward to celebrating our second year with music fans nationwide.”
In other news from one of the musicians featured on the line-up, Rae Sremmurd joined the voices of those against Donald Trump and spoke out against the politician at SXSW this year, saying to The FADER, "Man, he's a businessman. He shouldn't be trying to go into office with it. Leave that to the real politicians. Still get your money, but you don't need to put a negative influence in the world. People are already gullible. Don't lead them in the wrong direction. We're trying to see progress."
