If you missed Kanye West’s rained out set at Governors Ball, you’ll have another chance to see him in NYC this fall. Both West and the Weeknd are slated to headline Meadows Music and Arts Festival on October 1 and 2, which will be held at Citi Field in the Queens borough of Flushing Meadows Park. The new festival is being put on by the same company that organizes Governor’s Ball, Founders Entertainment.
Meadows Music and Arts Festival has a bevy of talent slated to perform, including Sylvan Esso, Kamasi Washington, Chromeo, Empire of the Sun, Metric, Savages, Bryson Tiller, the 1975, Grimes, Kygo and even Chance the Rapper.
Those who purchased tickets to Governors Ball will have first dibs on the new festival, and should be receiving a promotional email from Founders Entertainment for pre-sale tickets on June 22. Tickets will be available for purchase to the masses the following day (June 23) according to SPIN.
In other Kanye West news, the rapper will not be facing charges from the chaos caused at Webster Hall due to a surprise pop-up concert following his rained out performance at Governors Ball. He had been planning to perform songs from The Life of Pablo album for those who purchased tickets but the venue was swarmed, resulting in crushed car roofs, littered streets and broken windows. As a result, the pop-up show was cancelled as reported by the venue.
