Iggy Azalea has officially signed on to executive produce for NBCUniversal with her company, Azalea Street. The rapper announced the news via Instagram this week that she and Azalea Street will be in a deal that involves creating original content for NBCUniversal.
“Also! Wanted to share with everyone that my production company ‘Azalea Street’ has just signed on to create original content for UniversalNBC! So guys, I’m an Executive Producer for at least a few years to come! Hopefully many! Lots of scripted series in the works! Lots on interesting ideas! I’ve been working on this for a long time now and can’t wait to share more info with you soon,” Azalea posted on Instagram.
No specific shows have yet been reported.
The good news for Azalea comes on the helm of some personal drama and a break-up with fiance Nick Young. The break-up followed a cheating scandal and some major trust issues between the two. Allegedly, the couple had been trying to move past the drama, but it appears that they were unable to.
This past March, a video had been released online by his teammate, D’Angelo Russell, of Young boasting about his trysts with other women while engaged to Azalea. Young seemed to confirm the video in a press conference after one of his games, saying that, “what happened is what happened,” according to People.
Azalea took to Instagram too announce the news, writing, “Unfortunately although I love Nick and have tried to rebuild my trust in him - It’s become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to. I genuinely wish Nick the best. It’s never easy to part ways with the person you planned your entire future with, but futures can be rewritten and as of today mine is a blank page.”
