Kanye West is opening 21 pop-up shops for Life of Pablo merchandise this upcoming weekend. The short lived retail experiment will take place in cities around the world.
West has already achieved some success selling the merch with temporary storefronts in New York, Los Angeles and Paris, with Yeezy boasting that there have been lines around the block to buy his clothes. He also claimed that he made $1 million in a single weekend at the New York shop. West revealed the news in a series of tweets. While it seems plausible he made that much money, there was no tangible proof.
According to Vogue, the pop-up stores will only be open for three days. Each city will additionally have it’s own customized shirt with the name written in Cali Thornhill DeWitt’s gothic script, which has been featured on the majority of West’s collection. The script was prominently featured in the collection West showed at Madison Square Garden this past February.
The location of each store is slated to be announced through kanyewest.com exactly 24 hours before they open for business and some of the cities abroad include Singapore, Amsterdam, Cape Town, Toronto and Melbourne. U.S. cities include Portland, Detroit, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago and Atlanta.
