The Chainsmokers have hinted that they are open to creating and releasing their first studio album. According to the "Closer" artists, they would release a full album if their fans want them to.
Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers made the statement through a series of posts on the group's official Twitter account. In one of their tweets, the two EDM DJs noted that the process of creating an album, as opposed to releasing singles, is very different and is a "big deal."
Taggart and Pall did not mention if the possible album will exclusively contain new material or if it will also feature their recently released tracks.
Ever since The Chainsmokers debuted in 2012, they have only released one EP titled Bouquet. This came out in October last year and features the tracks "Roses," "New York City," "Until You Were Gone," "Waterbed" and "Good Intentions."
Following the EP's release, the group focused on singles such as "Don't Let Me Down" and "Inside Out." Taggart and Pall's latest track "Closer" came out in July and features the singer Halsey.
"Closer" was able to claim the No. 1 spot of the Billboard Hot 100 during the third week after its official release. This marked the first time that both The Chainsmokers and Halsey were able to reach the top of the U.S. record chart for singles.
