Keke Wyatt gets a little freaky in her new single "Jodeci" an homage to legendary R&B group Jodeci. An Instagram snippet teaser of both the audio and video let fans know a new deluxe album is on the way.
Though it's only been six months since the release of Wyatt's fourth studio album, Rated Love, she's already putting in the work to release more new material on Rated Love Deluxe.
The mother of eight proclaimed the success of her new track on Instagram with a caption that read, "I think we got one with my new single "Jodeci"!!! I wanna know what y'all think???"
The "we" in the caption referenced her team over at Aratek Entertainment, her newly formed independent label.
During an interview with Rolling Out, the R&B Divas: Atlanta star spoke highly of how exciting and freeing it has been since launching her own label.
"[With the label], I'm able to put my own project out," Wyatt explained to Rolling Out. "I don't have to worry about other labels, and what they think. It's my thing. I can sing what I want. I can come in when I want. I can do what I want to do. "
Apparently, what she wants to do is make good music. And based off of the new "Jodeci" snippet teaser and the comments from her followers, good music is exactly what she's making.
"Home Run," wrote Rissabrown54.
"Yassss Keke you better sang. [The] beat is sick," wrote Wyatt's Instagram follower flawed32.
"Me likey.... it's got the right amount of bounce to it and that slight feel of early 90's Harmony... ," added kwintell_wright.
A trip back to the '90s is the core of the new single named for K-Ci, JoJo, DeVante Swing and Mr. Dalvin; collectively known as Jodeci.
With the lyrics Wyatt referenced one the group's hit singles, "Freek'n You."
"Don't you think that I forgot the things that you said/cause every single word you spoke is stuck in my head..." Wyatt sings.
"Said you want to do it any freek'n where well that I gotta see. And you said you want to kiss me every freek'n where well that I gotta see. You gon' have to show me babe.... And I'll turn on this Jodeci."
The singer songwriter captioned the video snippet with a release date of Oct. 21 for the full video. Until then, you can listen and watch the one below on repeat.
