BMI's Jody Williams, co-writers Natalie Hemby and Nicolle Galyon, Miranda Lambert, and BMI's Bradley Collins attend the the 'Automatic' No. 1 party on June 30, 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee.
When Miranda Lambert celebrated her latest #1, "Automatic," last week, she kept the party in line with the theme of the hit song - celebrating a time when things were simpler.

While the song itself points more towards the late 70s and early 80s as it starts out with the line "Quarter in a payphone" (payphones didn't start costing a quarter until the 1970s and after) and it mentions recording the countdown on a blank cassette (cassettes didn't become common until the late 70s), the party theme went back even farther to the 1950s. The guests were asked to wear outfits from the 50s and many played along, donning their best poodle skirts, polka dot tops and leather jackets.

The club that hosted the bash was decked out in pink and black streamers and golden oldies played in the background while guests munched on mini burgers and Oreos. The lady of the hour wore a strapless pink tulle gown with touches of chiffon and a shiny silver slip peeking out from underneath. Her trademark cowboy boots were replaced by a pair of strappy silver heels and a single strand of pearls topped it all off.

Gary Overton, the CEO of Sony Music Nashville, presented Miranda with a plaque marking the million-selling status of Platinum and Miranda, Natalie and Nicolle (her co-writers) were given plaques from their song publishing companies and medallions from the Country Music Association.

Miranda thanked those who dressed up for the party and talked about how she was proud "to be sharing this moment with people that inspire me" (referring to her co-writers). She went on to say, "I know that everybody in this room has contributed in some way. Thank you for being here and thank you for caring about the music."
