Lil Wayne’s camp is denying he suffered a seizure this past Friday night (Nov. 24) and canceled his scheduled set at Summerfall in Curacao as a result. Rick Ross, Meek Mill, French Montana and Fat Joe are amongst the other artists on the line-up at the Stadion Ergilio Hato.
TMZ initially reported that promoters behind the event confirmed the seizure and that when he didn’t show up it was a “breach of contract.”
The promotions company then posted a message to Facebook denying this, and wrote, “Contrary to recent reports, Color Events met all contractual obligations for Lil Wayne to perform at the SummerFall concert tonight. We are still investigating the reason for the last-minute cancellation and have nothing further to comment on except that although we are disappointed Lil Wayne will not be performing, we excited about the lineup of artists who will be performing tonight.”
HipHopDX reports that there have been rumors of health problems for Lil Wayne throughout 2016. Last June, he reportedly suffered seizures during a flight and his airplane had to land twice. The rapper was then hospitalized after the plane landed for a second time.
This past July, it was rumored that he had missed a show at Tao nightclub in Las Vegas because of another seizure, but then told fans it was a “false alarm.” There were also rumors of seizures in 2012 and 2013.
Wayne’s camp has repeatedly denied that his rumored medical issues are a result of his use of lean, and are due to epilepsy.
